A taxiI driver accused of raping a five-year-old meisie, while out on parole for the rape of a disabled woman, will have to serve the rest of his sentence in jail.
The 41-year-old man abandoned his bail application in the Caledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday after hearing his parole was revoked.
The suspect from Genadendal was sentenced to 10 years for attacking the disabled woman.
He was out on parole on July 29 when he allegedly penetrated the girl victim with his finger.
The incident happened in the taxi on a Friday while the little girl and the suspect were waiting for older kids, also travelling with him from Myddleton to Caledon, to come out of school.
The incident was reported to the police a few days later after the victim told her mom what happened.
The suspect was arrested on August 5 and has been behind bars since then.
A relative of the disabled rape victim said she can’t understand how the parolee was allowed to transport school children.
She says the taxi driver from Genadendal was released on parole last year.
She says the sex pest wrote letters to his victim’s family while in jail, begging for forgiveness.
He was released after his victim apparently wrote to authorities saying she forgave him, but the woman says it’s a lie.
“They said she wrote a letter but she couldn’t write so it could have been anybody,” she says.
The case was postponed to October 4 for further investigation.
