It’s D-day for Oscar Pistorius again.
The Paralympic star is going to hear his fate tomorrow, when he will be sentenced for murder in the North Gauteng High Court by the same judge who had previously found him guilty of culpable homicide in 2014, Judge Thokozile Masipa.
Now that Pistorius has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp in 2013, he could face up to 15 years in jail.
Last month in an interview with ITV, the former athlete said jail time would be a waste of his life and talents.
The “Blade Runner” said: “If I was afforded the opportunity of redemption, I would like to help the less fortunate.”
He added: “I would like to believe that if Reeva could look down upon me that she would want me to live that life.”
In his last court appearance, Pistorius was asked to walk in the courtroom on his stumps, and Judge Masipa also ruled that gruesome crime scene pictures of Reeva could be published because her parents had consented to it.
When he is sentenced, the double amputee will most likely return to the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in Pretoria and once again be in the hospital section.
