CT City still have slim title hopes

Tonight’s the night we see fireworks in the PSL.

fireworks in the PSL.

Not just in the title race, but ALL over the table.

And, for one, I can’t wait.

Ahead of next Saturday’s final day all the games kick off at the same time tonight (7.30pm) and all teams are playing Round 29.

A dramatic season is finally, finally reaching it’s D-Day and although it may likely go down to the final day, tonight will give us a clearer picture of where the trophy will end up and who will kiss the PSL goodbye on May 27.

There are finals all over the country. So let’s look at all of them, starting with the top three.

Wits got moered at Free State Stars last week. They were nowhere let’s be honest.

Players were tjanking as they left the pitch thinking that the trophy was on it’s way back to Atteridgeville and into the cabinet of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

That is until the final whistle blew at Sundowns and it was confirmed they had drawn 2-2 with relegation candidates Baroka FC.

That means the Students are still top of the class.

But now Downs are two behind them and there really is no room for error anymore.

Wits play as if they are afraid to lose.

All those 1-0 wins before the loss at Goble Park and even the way they played here against Cape Town City shows that.

We know they are tired and have injuries and and and. But, jinne, play like you smaak to win.

The finish line is in sight for them Gavin Hunt must just get it right tonight against Polokwane City.

If he doesn’t, then Sundowns could punish them with a win over Maritzburg United but as Cape Town City will tell you the team of Choice are no pushovers.

Speaking of the Blue and Gold brigade, even though they lost at SuperSport United last time out, the top two also dropping points means they can still win the title.

Here’s what I think will happen tonight: Wits will scrape past Polokwane 2-1, Sundowns will beat Maritzburg 3-0 and City will edge Golden Arrows or possibly draw given the visitors are fighting for top 8.

BUT I’m the same person that thought Downs would be comfortably top so what do I know!
