Some of the club players can put their feet up until July 16 when the season resumes, while others will probably have to work hard on their shortcomings during the break.
It’s been a season in which we have witnessed some good rugby, as well as poor rugby to date.
One team that will most certainly have to go back to the drawing board before taking the field again is UCT.
Usually a powerhouse in the Western Province Super League A, the Ikey Tigers have lost five matches to date and won only two to enter the break in unfamiliar territory on the log - 10th position.
And while they probably won’t be in the relegation battle come the end of the season, it is Wilbur Kraak’s Parow NNK that looks a certainty for the drop.
Currently in a rebuilding phase after winning promotion last year, NNK have not won a single match yet.
At the top of the table is the undefeated False Bay, with surprise package Tygerberg in second.
Hamiltons, after their bolt from the blue defeat to Durbell (in fourth) two weeks ago, occupy third place, with the impressive Brackenfell making up the top five.
But despite making waves in the top flight, Brackenfell’s star players will probably feel a bit disheartened at the fact that none of them were included in the Western Province Emerging Preliminary squad.
It makes you wonder if the squad is actually selected on form with UWC, currently in 13th place on the log, sporting no less than four players in the squad.
Kudos, though, have to go to the selected players, with four of the 52 coming from outside the Super League A.
Belhar have the most players in the squad, with a total of nine, while False Bay have seven and Durbell six.
Back to the on-field club action, defending champions Maties will again be the team to beat when the action resumes, having won all five of their matches to date.
But they will have to play catch-up when they do return, having to play a whole host of fixtures.
Meanwhile, in Super League B there are no more unbeaten sides as Bellville stunned UniMil last weekend, beating them 29-27 in Milnerton.
