Question
Pearl, I’m a single mother and I am a drug addict who wants to change my life.
My family and community don’t believe I stand a chance, but I do. I also have a boyfriend who gives me strength.
Can you also help me, please.
From Penny in M.Plain.
Auntie Pearl's answer
Penny, you can be sure that Auntie is going to try and help you!
A druggie who wants to ruk reg her life, is someone Auntie won’t turn her back on.
You are already on the right path. By admitting you have a problem, you are on your way to rehabilitation.
The fact that you have a berk who supports you, definitely helps. And Auntie suggests you find even more strength by thinking of your child or children and their future.
Now Auntie is not a drug counsellor, but I can get you in touch with the people who are best at dealing with drug addiction. They are sommer in the Plain!
You can visit the Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre at 1 Civet Street in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain.
You can also phone them on 021 397 0103, or email [email protected]
You can explain your situation and ask them for advice.
Good luck, Penny, and SMS or email Auntie if you want to talk again!
