A post-match interview this week has gone viral after a
player’s massive moemish.
Mohammed Anas of Free State Stars scored two goals to earn Ea Lla Koto a draw with Ajax Cape Town.
But it was his post-match interview that has earned him worldwide fame.
In his excitement at being named Man of the Match, Anas thanked his wife and his girlfriend for their support.
He giggled and said sorry but then gave two women’s names saying either Liezel or Lisa “I love you so much” and then adding “Aya I love you so much”.
Queue the memes and jokes. I mean wow, just wow.
The interview got picked up by the international press and now people from the UK to the US have seen his moemish.
BBC and New York times correspondent Gary Al-Smith even called it the greatest man of the match speech ever.
Now Anas is an international star and side chicks everywhere have won a small victory.
But Anas is not the only one with a memorable
public interview.
Here are some of my favourites:
Punch Masenamela:
After being named Man of the Match in a Nedbank Cup game, Masenamela said he was just happy for three points.
Good Enough Sithole
: This Orlando Pirates fan became a legend after his interview where he was explaining how Pirates have five skippers and also telling us why he was dressed like a woman.
Siyabonga Sangweni
: After being named Man of the Match in the MTN8 final a few years ago, Sangweni thanked the Pirates supporters for coming in numbers and giving them: “morari moriwari eish I’m so excited I don’t know what I said.”
Kgoloko Thobejane
: The Baroka FC Coach has given us so many gems over the past year or so but my favourite moment was when they won the NFD and the presenter (me) congratulated him for winning the title and he congratulated her back.
