Alright, that’s enough about the World Sevens already
My god, what a difference between the marketing of that and SA football!
They could have encouraged a sold-out Cape Town Stadium if they had a knitting tournament on.
Yeah, Sevens is great, but it’s not even the real deal? It’s like watching 5-a-side football I am, however, in awe of the way they manage to mobilise 90 000 people to watch it. I had three tickets for the kids, but they’re all away.
Stuck them on Gumtree on Sunday morning and the phone wouldn’t stop ringing! Well, let’s hope Cape Town City’s success is something to build on; hopefully it’ll encourage fans to get out like the rugga-buggas.
Talking about hope, man it must be tough being a Liverpool fan (again).
Remember pre-season, Manchester United fans were already celebrating the treble and it all went pear-shaped. Well, looks like it’s the Scousers' turn.
Ok, still early days, but as we spoke about a month ago, they went off like a fire cracker and the question was, will they be able to keep that huge intensity up?
They were never really in control, didn’t have prolonged periods of dominance and always looked like they could concede when West Ham were on the break.
Look, we’re still under a third of the way into the season, but for me it looks like its gonna be the same old story.
So much promise, but nothing delivered.
It’s kind of different up the road at Old Trafford. It has to be said they haven’t been playing badly and they were decent against a plucky Spurs.
It feels like it’s getting a bit better every week. However, 13 points off the top is a huge chunk to catch up.
Jose was back to his more familiar self after the game and I thought it was a nice touch for him to “dedicate the match to Marouane Fellaini”.
In case you missed it, a large section of the crowd booed the Belgian, something I personally don’t think he deserves.
I know a lot of United fans can’t stand him and he hasn’t showed his capability this season, of course giving away two points last week, but he can be a very effective player.
I guess a mention needs to be made about Pep Guardiola’s Man City. It’s another confidence issue, isn’t it?
Lost their sh!t against Chelsea and then got whacked by the struggling Leicester.
Pep’s got a lot on his hands at Eastlands and I’m not sure his cut-throat attitude and public blasting of players is going to do the trick?
Well, Arsenal are purring along with another good win and, of course, the league favourites picked up their ninth win in a row!
I know ya’ll hate Diego Costa, but surely you have to give the man respect as a footballer.
His game has sharpened up so much this season, he’s quicker, finishing better, running at defenders harder and most importantly, in control of his temperament.
It’s transformed him. He’s a yellow away from a match ban and he’ll be more than missed.
Would I date him? Look, I don’t usually do hairy, but I think he’s gorgeous.
Great week this week; forget all the hassles of work: there’s Premier League football tonight and tomorrow
Everton v Arsenal this evening should be a good’* .
I can’t understand what the hell’s going wrong with the Toffees, but I have the feeling they’ll compete against the Gunners and United travel to Crystal Palace tomorrow, which could also be fire!
Come on, everyone, after me: “Diego, Diego, Diego!”
