It's Christmas a time for giving and reconciliation.
People will be spending time with their families and reflecting on what they are grateful for.
Ah, it’s a lekker time of the year. But sometimes it can be depressing too, especially if you look back at the year with a couple of regrets.
And for those people, I have some special wishes at this special time.
Here is my Xmas wishlist I hope it’s not too late Father Christmas.
HOW the Bokke need a bit of flair. Some X-factor would suit the struggling national team right now.
They looked more clueless than ever this year as they lost all but four of their games in 2016.
It’s so bad that I almost thought about just asking the Bokke to return to winning ways.
But we know that that won’t be enough.
Who wants to see the Boks play 10-man rugby? And will it even work in this day and age?
Nee. The Boks need something extra.
Maybe a new coach is even on the cards.
Now that Shakes Mashaba has been fired, let’s hope that there will be peace at Bafana Bafana.
The former coach has only got himself to blame, though.
Shakes, after a simmering feud with his Safa bosses, lost his cool after showing that he could lead his team to victory over World Cup qualifying group favourites Senegal with a 2-1 win.
He didn’t speak to the media, but went on a rant that he was worthy of the job he was so often criticised of being clueless at.
I can empathise with him – it’s not as if his bosses are doing any better after announcing a R40m loss.
And for those financial reasons, they could get rid of him on disciplinary grounds rather than accept his resignation. Anyway, now they need to find the right man for the job.
Already the bosses have said they want someone with the experience on continental football to get Bafana qualified for the 2018 World Cup.
Roger de Sa fits the bill and is the only man linked so far, but Gavin Hunt and Pitso Mosimane are also in with a shout.
