Western Cape Premier and former DA leader Helen Zille will know on Sunday whether she will face any disciplinary measures for tweets praising colonialism.
In a statement yesterday, James Selfe, chairman of the DA’s federal executive, said a report compiled by Glynnis Breytenbach, the party’s chairwoman of the federal legal commission, has been submitted to him.
This report will now be discussed at a federal executive meeting, to be held on Sunday, 2 April.
Zille tweeted: “For those claiming legacy of colonialism was ONLY negative, think of our independent judiciary, transport infrastructure, piped water etc.”
DA leader Mmusi Maimane lodged a complaint following the tweets.
Zille later apologised for the remarks, but not before an internal investigation was launched.
