Use a glass and don’t run tap water

WATER WISE: Every drop counts

With the winter rains that keep falling, although only every few days, our dams are slowly starting to fill up.

But we are still very far from having water security, mense, and we are still on Level 4B water restrictions.

So while the rain brings some relief, we cannot let up on our duty to save water.

This week Auntie wants us all to start working on our water use behaviour. If we start with small things now, it will be easier, and almost automatic, to keep up this behaviour when summer rolls around.

So let’s sommer start in the bathroom, with something small.

Keep a glass on the handbasin in the bathroom. When you brush your teeth, don’t just open the tap and let the water run the whole time. Even when you are rinsing, use the glass and don’t let most of the water just flow past your mouth and down the drain!

It’s a simple thing to do, but every drop counts.
