GATVOL: Body of a man found naked, beaten in Kraaifontein

Two people have been found dead in what is both believed to be cases of mob justice attacks.

According to witnesses, the victim is known to “regularly rob” people on their way to work early in the morning.

Marjorie Willemse, 47, says she has also fallen victim to the deceased, and she watched as the community beat him to death.

“He sits and waits here on the corner for people coming over the field to work. This was bound to happen and I can’t say I blame the people for their anger. He has robbed and beaten up children as well. He died like the skollie he is,” says Willemse.

In the second incident in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, the body an unidentified man was found naked and badly beaten yesterday morning.

A neighbourhood watch member said: “He was lashed, by the marks covering his body, and they just left him in his broken underwear.”

Joni confirms: “A murder case has been opened for investigation at the Kraaifontein SAPS subsequent to the discovery of a body of an unknown man in Merula Road in Wallacedene at 4.45am. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
