The teen suspect, who cannot be named, because he is a minor, was taken into custody yesterday after a police manhunt of nearly a week following the murder of Dorian Solomons.
Dorian was shot and killed on March 23 while walking friends to a school in Lansport Road, Hanover Park.
According to his mother, Dorian, who had been to a reformatory for six months last year, turned his life around after belonging to a gang.
On March 24, cops arrested two suspects, aged 18 and 24 years old, for his murder.
The duo made a brief appearance at the Athlone Magistrates’ Court this week and should return to court on April 3.
Yesterday Captain FC Van Wyk confirmed a third suspect had been apprehended and arrested.
Details of his location of arrest have yet to be revealed.
