The duo became friends through rugby in high school and has followed the same career path since then, they always knew they would go into business together as they had the same passion for business and particularly startups. Siya and Tim saw a gap in the market for quality underwear that has funky prints with a unique African flare.
They embarked on a two-year journey with a mission to create the perfect men`s undies that fully represents the modern South African man. As a result, the brand Frankees, came to life.

Kolisi was hands-on in designing this collection, which include the retro-1990s feel, jacquard waistband. One pair using South Africa`s national flower, the protea has been developed and will launch later; another incorporating the traditional ShweShwe print and the oh so playful emoji print.
“I want to wear a pair of undies that gives the Boys the same support as my team gives me, that is comfortable and looks good in any situation on or off the field.” Says Siya.
Each pair of premium Frankees is made up of 95% cotton, 5% spandex, delicate flatlock stitched seams and supreme architectural cut with a snug pouch and wash-friendly waistband for everyday wear, while providing excellent freedom of movement.
“The journey has been one of many lessons and challenges, but an adventure none the less. We are proud of the designs we have come up with and the quality exceeds all of our expectations.” Says Tim.
Plans have been put into place to develop a scholar foundation as some proceeds of the sales will be used to help less fortunate kids achieve their full potential. They believe in paying it forward as without Siya`s bursary for his education at Grey none of this would have become reality.
