This teenage boy escaped with his life after skelms attacked him while he was on his way to school.
The teen was hospitalised on Tuesday after he was stabbed in the chest in Milnerton.
Seth Pieters, 17, says the minute he got out of the taxi in Milnerton he was surrounded by three young men who tried to take his valuables in Noble Road.
Seth, who lives in Brooklyn, is a Grade 10 learner at De Grendel High School where he is studying trade welding.
His ouma, Colleen Pieters, says the learner spent the day in hospital after the knife penetrated his lung.
“He got off the taxi when three men approached him and asked him what he had. He said ‘nothing’ and they attacked him,” says Colleen.
“He fought with the first two and when he turned around the third one came with a knife and got him in the chest. They first took him to the clinic in Albow Gardens, but then he was taken to Dunoon CHC.”
Seth was discharged and sent home but on Wednesday said he had no feeling in his left arm.

“I feel okay now, but my whole left arm is lame and I can’t feel anything,” he told the Daily Voice.
He says skollies are targeting school children for their valuables.
“There are a lot of robberies there and they like to target us. They look about 18- or 19-year-olds.”
Ouma Colleen says the skelms took Seth’s cellphone and his school bag.
“When they saw there was nothing valuable in the school case they just threw it away. This is not right, our children are going to school to learn, not to be attacked and robbed. This is very unfair and I am very upset at what they have done,” she says.
Police spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana, says a robbery case has been opened. “No one has been arrested at this stage,” she says.
Milnerton Community Police Forum (CPF) chairperson, Lianne Lippert, says they were shocked to hear of the incident.
“This is very scary but there have been a number of robberies in the area with kids being targeted. The children need to be vigilant and if confronted rather give them what they want. It’s worth far less than your life.”
