The Super Animals cards are a range of 108 cards that are collected and placed in a collection album. Customers receive four cards, each featuring a photograph and information about a specific animal, for every R150 spent in store. SANParks receives R1 from the same of every collection album sold.
However, it emerged in recent days that some of the cards contain errors, and according to Andrew Pretorius of Pick n Pay Marketing, the retailer has already taken steps to get replacement cards to collectors.
“Our customers love our South African Super Animals collection, and we’re really sorry that a few errors crept in,” said Pretorius.
“Collectors can then come in to exchange their cards for free, or contact us via our Facebook page and we’ll get replacement cards to them,” said Pretorius.
“The South African Super Animals app has already been updated with the correct information,” added Pretorius
SANParks acting head of communications, William Mabasa, said: “We would like to apologise for the errors, and thank South Africans for their continued support of conservation.”
According to Mabasa, “SANPark receives R1 from every Super Animals album sold, and is supporting the campaign for its fun and educational value”.
The campaign will run until June 4, or while stocks last.
