Belhar man bust with illegal stash of perly in Mitchells Plain.

Police have found R2 million worth of perly at a Cape Flats house after receiving a tip-off.

One man was bust at a house in Chelsea Street, Rondevlei Park, Mitchells Plain, on Monday night.

Cops later established the man lives in Belhar.

Philippi Police spokesperson, Captain Lance Goliath says officials from the Department of Marine and Coastal Management Forensic Unit were sent to the house and found abalone, and arrested a 36-year-old man.

Goliath says the man is expected to appear in court soon: “Police confiscated the abalone and arrested a 36-year-old male who is residing in Belhar for the illegal

possession of abalone.

“The suspect is due to appear at the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court.

“Police is investigating a case of dealing in abalone and is urging the public to forward information.”
