A man has been shot and killed outside a courthouse, moments after dropping someone off.
Details are sketchy of what took place outside the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court in Myrtle Street on Monday.
The man, 30, who had arrived at the courthouse just before 1pm, had been travelling in a white Toyota Conquest.
It is believed once he stepped out of the vehicle, a gunman raced up to him and opened fire, shooting him seven times.
Soon after the shooting cops made an arrest.
The suspect is expected to make a court appearance soon on a charge of murder.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, explains: “(On Monday) at 12.50pm, a 30-year-old man was shot and killed in Myrtle Road, Bishop Lavis. The suspect was arrested and is due to make a court appearance on a charge of murder, once he has been charged.”
