Cops are hunting for a gang of schoolkids who attacked a man in Elsies River by beating him with socks filled with stones and smearing him with paint during Guy Fawkes mayhem on Tuesday.
Pupils across the Cape Flats, armed with paint, sticks and socks filled with stones, terrorised communities such as Seawinds, Lavender Hill, Mitchells Plain and Delft.
In some areas, groups of up to 70-strong charged into oncoming traffic and stoned vehicles.
A video of the incident in Halt Road in Elsies River went viral on Tuesday, showing more than 15 laaities with paint-smeared faces running amok.
The one-minute video shows the kids walking down the street, armed with paint cans and filled socks.
The elderly man walks across the road when he is first confronted by a young man wearing a wig and carrying a tin of paint.
He begins to smear the man and is joined by the group, who start to swear at and threaten him: “ Jy jou n***.
“ Jy moet vrek gemaak word. Klap hom, ouens, klap hom.”
They then all take turns beating the man before running away.

Inspector Wayne Dyason, of the City’s Law Enforcement, says they had their hands full with “criminal behaviour” on Guy Fawkes.
“It started around 10am,” he says.
There were reports coming in of groups of youths in Tafelsig and surrounds running around with paint, sticks and nugget, intimidating people.
“Later, on the corner of Piketberg and Langberg [streets], they started stoning buses and smearing vehicles with nugget and paint,” says Dyason.
“In Lavender Hill and Seawinds, youngsters are similarly running around with paint and nugget and forming human chains to prevent people from entering their residences.
“A Law Enforcement vehicle was also stoned.
“The youngsters flee the minute they see officers, so no arrests [were made] yet.”

Imraahn Mukadam, of Inspire Elsies, says Law Enforcement and police have been inundated with calls about Guy Fawkes terror.
He condemned the “senseless violence that we witness each year coupled with the unleashing of horrific fireworks that adds to the stress and trauma that our already embattled communities have to endure.”
In Bonteheuwel, Ward Councillor Angus McKenzie called for parents to discipline their children on Guy Fawkes day.
“The smearing of nugget and paint and assault of people by children that should be in school is a disgusting and unacceptable action,” he said.
“The amount of Law Enforcement resources being required to deal with this issue versus dealing with real crime in itself is criminal.
“I strongly call on parents to take a stronger stand on the discipline of their children. These children have been allowed to bunk school today and create these criminal acts.”
