Newborn found at dump site
A graphic image of a newborn baby girl who was found at a dump site was shared social media yesterday.

The deceased infant was discovered on Tuesday afternoon with the umbilical cord still attached in Dury Road in Vrygrond.

Mense on Facebook were saddened by the image of the lifeless little body lying among debris.

Sharon Kim Benjamin said: “Rubbish.there are people that longs to have children nd can’t have.may she be found nd put in jail to rot.innocent baby that was conceived nd carried for 9 months nd was given birth to then dumped like garbage.heartless bitch.u will in silence I promise u.ur guilt will take u down. (sic)”

While Rushnie Scharnick said: “I don’ t understand why these useless excuses of “mothers” can’t just leave them in a home where they will be safe and looked after. How on earth can you put Gods creation through that?”

Police spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk says they are awaiting a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

“Members of the public led police to an illegal dump where the body of a fully formed female baby was located. A concealment of birth docket was opened for investigation. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
