Residents believe the man could have been shot around 5am but his body was found only an hour later.
His family refused to speak to the Daily Voice but SAPS confirmed the deceased, a 29-year-old man was shot and died on the scene.
Nearly seven bullet casings were found near the body and in a path leading up to the body lying in Zebra Close, Eastridge.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says no arrests were made.
“Circumstances relating to the incident are unknown. A murder case was registered for investigation.”
