‘Missing’ suspect found in prison

IN JAIL: Anthony Green Eyes September, 47

A man, whose family believed he “disappeared” after detectives fetched him from their home for an 18-year-old murder case, has been found alive in Pollsmoor prison.

The family of Anthony “Green Eyes” September, 47, of Kasteelpoort Street, in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain feared the worst after they could find no trace of him, after detectives collected him at their home on March 27.

Anthony and his brother, Raydean Adonis, 43, were accused of killing a neighbour in 1999, after witnesses claimed they saw them at the scene.

Raydean committed suicide two years ago.

Anthony’s wife, Nadia September, 37, told the Daily Voice he was expected to appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court the same day, but he never did.

The family then searched for him at the courthouse, as well as city hospitals and morgues.

Late last week, Mitchells Plain Station Commander, Brigadier Cass Goolam, revealed the man never went missing, as claimed, but that he was safe and sound — behind bars.

“He was never missing and he’s in Pollsmoor. He gave the wrong credentials,” Goolam said.

But Anthony’s sister, Gail Adonis, 41, denies he gave cops the wrong information.

She adds there was a confusion with surnames after forms which had been completed in 1999 were different from the recent ones: “He didn’t give wrong details. If my mom didn’t show them the old bail papers with the other surname on it of 1999, then they would not have found him.

“They asked for his real name, but on the bail paper there was another name.”
