Police are investigating a case of murder after a man was gunned down and his wife wounded in the same attack.
Eyewitnesses say the 26-year-old Atlantis man, who is the son of a well-known tow truck company owner in the area, was getting something to eat when the couple came under attack early Sunday morning in Mamre.
The man identified as Tee-Jay Dias was shot outside Sha-Zah Roadhouse in Mamre Main Road at about 1.15am.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be identified, says the suspects stood among the crowd after the shooting.
“They were sitting inside the car when [the gunmen] shot at them. He was hit in the head and she was hit on the side of her body,” the man explains.
“After the shooting [the suspects] left and came back when people came out of their houses and stood around the car,” he adds.
It’s believed Tee-Jay’s wife is in a serious condition in hospital.
He was buried yesterday according to Islamic rites.
The family was not available to speak to the Daily Voice.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says no one has been arrest yet.
“Cases of murder and attempted murder are under investigation,” he says.
