Man killed in suspected gang hit

One man has been killed and another wounded in a suspected gang shooting.

Police were called to Beethoven Court, Delft South, on Monday night where they found the body of one man lying in the gangetjie.

Another wounded person was lying nearby and rushed to hospital.

When the Daily Voice arrived at the scene, police had cordoned off the area while shocked residents looked on.

Forensic teams combed the area.

No family members of the men were present.

Residents claim the men are suspected members of the Ghetto Kids and were ambushed and attacked.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the incident: “Police responded to a shooting incident which occurred at Beethoven Court in Delft South.

“Upon arrival they found two males who were shot. One succumbed to his wounds and the other was transported to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

“Circumstances surrounding this shooting incident are under investigation.

“A case of murder and attempted murder has been opened for further investigation.”
