Police are on the hunt for possible suspects after they dug up an arms cache buried among the dead at a cemetery in Kleinvlei.
According to police, the discovery came following an intelligence-driven operation between various SAPS operational units at a graveyard in Kleinvlei at around 8pm.
In a bag buried in a grave, police found a Mowzer hunting rifle with a telescope, a .22 silencer, one smoke grenade, one stun grenade, seven detonators, three R4 magazines, 67 R1 rounds, 14 30/06 rounds and two BME Megamite 29 cartridges with two connector caps wrapped in a Zimbabwean newspaper.
Police say some of the items found in the bag are known to be used in ATM bombings.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut says the circumstances surrounding the discovery are still under investigation and no one has been arrested as yet.
