The little girl from Elsies River was found murdered on Saturday after disappearing on 4 May.
Family friend and tenant Mortimer Saunders has been charged with her kidnapping, rape and murder.
Yesterday, the grieving family received a truck full of flowers from Janine du Plessis and staff at the V&A Waterfront Woolworths.
Janine’s husband Anthony was in the news last year when his pit bull Paco was shot dead by police at their home in Ottery, after he had mauled a burglar to death.
Spokesperson Roegshanda Pascoe said they fetched the blooms with a Kia trok, but it was too small as “there were too many flowers”.
“We cannot thank them enough for this amazing gift,” she said.
The first load of flowers was used for Courtney’s memorial service last night.
Janine says they will also provide the flowers for the funeral.
“My store manager and the staff of Woolworths in the Waterfront have donated these flowers with the greatest pleasure. It cannot be easy losing a child and every gesture helps,” says Janine.
The family will also be receiving a granite headstone for Courtney from Yummy and Sons, a family-run business in Anfield Road in Blackheath.
Neamatula Isaacs and his son, Madanie, have crafted a white and red tombstone for little Courtney and will be doing the same for the family of Iyapha Yamile, four, from Khayelitsha, who was also murdered recently. She disappeared on 30 April.
“We do not know the families, but it is important to do all we can to console and help them to deal with the loss of their little girls,” says Neamatula.
The funeral service of murdered three-year-old Cape Town girl, Courtney Pieters, will be held on Saturday at the Adriaanse Community Hall in Elsies River.
Courtney will be buried out of the community hall after the church where they attend, the Old Apostolic Church in Matroosfontein, reportedly were unable to accommodate the funeral service.
Provincial MEC of Community Safety, Minister Dan Plato, is set to attend the funeral.
A peace walk has also been arranged for 8am on Saturday, from the Elsies River High School, for those who will not be able to attend the funeral.
