Food skelms nabbed


Five people, who operated a feeding scheme at a Khayelitsha school, have been arrested after officials found the group allegedly stole kos worth R15 000.

The female suspects volunteered as food handlers at Isiphiwo Primary.

They prepared two meals a day for more than 1000 pupils at a cost of R3.55 per learner, per day.Jessica Shelver, spokesperson for the Western Cape Education MEC, said the women were literally stealing food from the mouths of children.
