His friend was also injured in the shooting, but survived and was taken to the hospital.
Police and Metro Police descended on Hangklip Court shortly after 10am where the shooting occurred.
According to a police source, the shooting was the result of infighting between members of the Mongrels gang.
“The man who died was not a gangster but his friend, the one who went to the hospital, is a Mongrel. This is not over and there will be more shootings because they are fighting within the gang,” the source says.
The Daily Voice tried to speak to the dead man’s wife but she burst into tears saying: “Ek kannie”.
A man standing in the house said: “Moenie worry nie, ons gaan daai * *****s haal.”
Residents living in Hangklip Court declined to comment saying they feared for their safety.
