Patricia de Lille has urged mense not to vote for “Zuma the liegbek” on Wednesday.
Yesterday, the Democratic Alliance provincial leader and Cape Town mayoral candidate, rounded up her party’s election campaign on the Cape Flats, urging people not to give their precious votes to “liars”.
Addressing a crowd in Elsies River, De Lille said when mense go to the polls on Wednesday for the municipal elections, they must draw their cross next to a party that can change their lives for the better.
“Look at the poster of the ANC. [President Jacob] Zuma is looking up, van skelm wees. Hy kan nie mense in die gesig kyk nie,” she says.
“Don’t underestimate the ANC, they like to lie and say they’re going to come, maar hulle kom nooit. Daai man met die lang kop kyk in die lug op want hy lieg.”
She also took pot shots at the Economic Freedom Fighters.
“Those red berets are troublemakers, just like children, and cannot govern. I am the only mayor in Cape Town since 1994 who has ever sat in office a full term and we have fulfilled 98 percent of our development plan.”
She asked people to “lend” their votes to the DA for another five years.
“Don’t throw away your vote or your City by voting for anyone else. Hou die Kaap blou by giving us another chance to improve our service to you and so keep the Cape ours.”
