The family of Joshua Khan, who celebrated his 21st birthday two weeks ago, says they are struggling to cope with his sudden death.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Joshua and two friends, who were on their way home to Grassy Park in a white Renault Clio, crashed into the Plumstead cemetery on the corner of Dick Burton and Victoria Road.
Speaking to the Daily Voice on Sunday, his distraught aunt Shireen Khan, says her nephew, who was a cellphone technician, had a heart of gold.
“Joshua was a very fun, loving, intelligent, kind and sociable soul. He loved his family more than anything; he was a good boy who had a fantastic sense of humour,” she says.

“He always had a smile on his face. This is really a shock for the family and we are handling his loss badly.”
It is alleged that Joshua and his two friends, who have since been discharged from Victoria Hospital after suffering minor injuries, were being chased by an angry driver.
“Joshua and two friends were on their way home from Stones in Claremont where they had a night out playing pool,” says Shireen.
“On their way home the crash occurred. I believe they were at a red robot, a driver in a bakkie behind them started hooting but the robot was red.
“The guy then got out and wanted to fight and argue, but law-abiding Joshua drove off when the robot changed to divert any conflict.
“I believe the man in the bakkie then apparently followed them. That’s all we know.”

She says it appears the driver of their car took a turn too sharply, causing them to crash into another unidentified vehicle.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut, says a culpable homicide docket was opened for investigation.
“This office can confirm that a culpable homicide case docket has been registered after a 21-year-old man died when two vehicles collided on the corners of Dick Burton and Victoria Road Plumstead Saturday morning at 5.10am. The circumstances are being investigated,” Traut said.
On Sunday tributes poured in for the popular young man and his car club, Honda Supreme, honoured their fallen friend by popping their cars in front of his home in Grassy Park.
