Kraaifontein police office honoured Nelson Mandela by handing out soup, playing music, handing out blankets and even giving massages to the seniors of the area.
The police officers focused on the day hospital in the area, Scottsdene Clinic and the Scottsville Old Age Home, bringing joy and a little warmth and love to residents.
Mathilda Letago, 59, has only seven percent of her eyesight remaining but did her part by knitting for the elderly.
“I can barely see, but I knitted 158 scarves for the seniors. I slept very little, as I tried to finish on time and am proud of what I have achieved,” she says.
