The Mentor family of Duiker Crescent were devastated after their beloved mother lost her battle with cancer on 4 October.
Then, just hours later, they were brought to their knees when a fire guttered the family home, leaving them destitute.
The traumatised family were forced to find a new location for the memorial service, as well as the funeral.
Family spokesman, Leeroy Booysen, said the family of six, including four-year-old twins, lost everything in the blaze.

“The fire started in the back room, we’re not sure how,” he said, adding that three men were hospitalised for smoke inhalation.
Mom June Mentor, 65, was finally laid to rest on Saturday, and the family also received welcome donations from two car clubs.
Robin Geduld, the founder and chairman of the Fantastic MK1 Family car club, says when he saw they article in the Daily Voice, he knew “something had to be done”.

The group did an “emergency run” with their members and on Thursday handed over groceries to the Mentors.
“We collected items to hand over towards the funeral, like sugar, coffee, tea and milk just to make it a little easier on the family regarding refreshments,” he says.
“We did the run on Thursday, and got help from three other clubs, the VW Evolution, Chosen MK1 Generation and MK2 Society."
He says the family was grateful for their contribution.
LOSS: Family hit by death and house fire
“When we pulled up at their house on Thursday evening, the family was over the moon. We are just grateful we could assist this family,” Robin adds.
Community worker Sandra Adams says none of this would have been possible without the Daily Voice.
“The article was perfectly written. I just want to say thank you so much to the Daily Voice. Within hours of the article being printed, the family received a R5000 donation. People really came out to support and give once they read the article and for that they will be blessed,” Sandra says.
“I also approached a few businesses and they all gave something. Big companies donated clothing, electricians came on board to help fix up the home, neighbours assisted. To everyone, we say thank you.”
