Ten people were left injured yesterday morning when a bakkie rolled down a hill and crashed into an SUV in Durbanville.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the SUV parked on the side of Klipheuwel Road.

The bakkie was found some distance away down the bottom of the hill.

Several people had been flung from the bakkie before the crash.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says: “Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a total of 10 people had been injured.

“The injuries sustained ranged from minor to moderate.

“The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.”

It is understood that the bakkie had rolled down the hill, ejecting the patients off the back of the vehicle.

Fortunately, no one from the SUV sustained any injuries.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
