Ingredients
Crust
- One-and-a-half cup self-raising flour
- One-and-a-half cup cake flour
- 250g cold butter
- 8 teaspoons sugar
- 8-10 dessert spoons cooking oil
- 1 egg
Filling
- Four cups of milk
- 250g butter
- 8 eggs
- Condensed milk
- Vanilla essence
Method
Crust
- Mix sugar, flour and butter.
- Butter must be cold and hard or else the crust will not set.
- Add one egg to the dry ingredients.
- Add 8-10 dessert spoons of oil. Mix well.
- Once it forms a dough, roll into a ball. Place in a baking tray and press the dough to form a tart.
Filling
- Heat the milk and butter until the butter has melted then remove the saucepan to cool.
- Add 8 eggs, condensed milk and two tots of vanilla essence and whisk.
- Pour over the crust then sprinkle with fine cinnamon. Bake for 30 minutes at 180ºC or until the filling is stiff.
