Singer hosts party to clean up a park in his hometown of Mitchells Plain.

Monox sure knows how to throw a party for a good cause.

The 30-year-old singer and dancer, whose real name is Moenier Adams, was the organiser and main performer at a fundraiser held at Glendale High School on Saturday night.

Monox says the money will be used to clean up a park in his hometown of Mitchells Plain.

The party kicked off with Monox singing the Adam Levine hit Locked Away and then told the audience: “Ons is in die Rocklands, moenie vir julle sturvy hou nie.”

Fewer people showed up than what was expected, but those who stieked uit had a ball of a time.

Pha’Kiyyah Mallie, 13, and her tjommies had a lekker time.

“I came to watch Monox cos he is so cute!” Pha’Kiyyah says.

Her aand was gemaak when after the interval, Monox invited mense to dance with him on stage and she jumped at the chance.

Rashaad and Aneesa Ackiemdien from Beacon Valley took their daughters to see the variety show.

“We’re having a wonderful time,” Aneesa tells the Daily Voice.

Of course Monox dazzled the crowd with his Michael Jackson moves.

The girl group Family Affair also shone on stage as well as MC’s 4REAL.

Monox hopes this is the first fundraiser of many as he starts cleaning up the Plain, starting with the park behind Montague Drive in Portlands.
