STEAMY: e.tvs soft porn was popular

Campaign to get adult flieks back.

Remember those late-night blouetjies on e.tv that mense were complaining about so much?

Well, now people want them back, and the hashtag #BringBackR18MoviesOnETV has been trending on Twitter.

Legions of Emmanuelle fans tweeted up a storm this week, asking e.tv to bring back the 70s loose goose to heat up the late-night slot.

The channel reportedly hit record viewership figures of 1.16 million with the soft-porn series, before taking it off the air a few years ago.

The broadcaster has yet to comment on whether they would consider bringing back their late night R-Rated adult films.

Some viewers even said they quit e.tv after the erotic movies were removed from the schedule, while some suggested alcohol abuse would drop.

“#BringBackR18MoviesOnETV teenagers will stay away from alcohol and taverns,” tweeted @Asey_Pot1.

A handful of Twitter users were against the idea. Musician Ntsiki Mazwai tweeted: “U want porn on general tv are you stupid or non-thinking? Horny energy suppressing brain cells?”

The movement was started by TweetGuru, @JustKholii, who tweeted on Thursday: “Throwback Thursday, please provide reasons why R18 ETV movies were removed and why they should come back #BringBackR18MoviesOnETV.”
