A Hawston man’s body was discovered under his bed in his hokkie on Wednesday morning, hours after neighbours heard three shots ring out.
According to one neighbour, three shots were fired shortly after 3am in George Viljoen Street, Hawston.
“It sounded very close but we didn’t go out to see what happened,” says the man.
According to another man at the crime scene, the deceased’s family only realised he was fatally wounded when they tried to wake him up for work hours later.
“They found his body under the bed,” says the man.
Adam “Arm” Visagie’s family were still too emotional to speak about the shooting.
“We don’t know what happened but we leave it in God’s hands,” said one relative.
Lieutenant Colonel André Traut says Visagie, 45, was found with a bullet wound to his upper body.
“According to witnesses, unknown gunmen fired shots at a shack and fled the scene,” he adds.
No arrests have been made yet and the motive for the murder is still unknown.
