A 55-year-old man is due in court today after he was bust with more than 3 000 kreef in his BMW.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says cops made the bust on the N2 near Lwandle on Thursday night when they responded to a tip-off about a vehicle transporting crayfish.
When they searched the silver BMW, cops found it loaded tjok en blok full of whole crayfish and a large number of crayfish tails.
According to a source, several of the crayfish were “in berry”, meaning they carried eggs.
The suspect is due to appear in the Strand Magistrates’ Court today.
