A Boland man allegedly raped two kids and assaulted another on a mountain.

A 61-year-old Boland man is due in court for allegedly raping two young children and sexually assaulting their friend.

He appeared in the Ashton Magistrates’ Court last Monday on two charges of rape and a count of sexual assault of two girls and a boy.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says the elderly man was reported after one of the girls’ mother noticed a love bite in her neck late last month.

“According to the mother of the nine-year-old victim, on 24 September the victim entered the house with a ‘love bite’ in the neck,” explains Van Wyk.

“When confronted about the love bite, the victim mentioned that the love bite was made by an alleged suspect.”

It was later revealed that the 61-year-old man allegedly picked up the girl and her two friends where they were playing on a field and took them to the mountain where he allegedly raped the nine-year-old and the 12-year-old boy and sexually assaulted the other girl.

“The second rape victim is a 12-year-old boy and the third victim is an eight-year-old girl,” explains Van Wyk.

Detectives of the Family Violence, Child Care and Sexual Crimes Unit (FCS) Unit from Worcester are investigating the case.

The suspect appeared in Ashton Magistrates’ Court.

“The case has been remanded until 18 October for further investigation,” says Van Wyk.
