The Lions are the only South African team left in Super Rugby.
And the Daily Voice is storming saam with the manne from Joburg when they tackle defending champions the Highlanders at Ellis Park tomorrow (3pm).
Springboks Elton Jantjies, Faf de Klerk, Lionel Mapoe, Jaco Kriel, Franco Mostert, Julian Redelinghuys and Ruan Combrinck will all be in the mix.
And with the Lions showing great form by beating the Crusaders last week, centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg and hooker Malcolm Marx have also surely caught the eye of Bok boss Allister Coetzee.
They will, however, be without inspirational skipper Warren Whiteley.
But coach Johan Ackermann is backing his team to come out roaring like in their win over the Saders last week.
He says: “Losing Warren doesn’t change our approach, that’s why we have a full squad who need to be ready to perform.
“Obviously the win gives you confidence. They’re the defending champions with a lot of quality players.
“The fact that we had to play a NZ team last week did help, but we have to reset. The Highlanders play differently.
“Their kicking game is right up there. Between Aaron and Ben Smith, they have an excellent tactical kicking game.
“There has been a calmness to the week. It feels like everything other game. I’m not staying awake at night.”
