If you #LoveRugby and loved The Voice SA, then you’re in for a treat.
The Voice SA winner and two of the finalists will be singing the South African and Irish national anthems at the Castle Lager Incoming Series starting this weekend.
Lana Crowster will sing Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika at DHL Newlands on Saturday, blind singer Vernon Barnard will perform the anthem at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg and the show’s winner Richard Stirton will sign off the series with a performance at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
SA Rugby’s CEO Jurie Roux says: “We have had many established artists and stars singing our anthems in the past and we are very proud of that.”
“But we also want to bring in new faces, fans and talents into rugby with the #LoveRugby story and at the same time, The Voice SA was doing something similar in the music industry. It made sense to combine the two,” says Roux
