After a hectic week you’ve come to the right place to get all the lekker weekend party details.
Among all the kwaai events going on in Cape Town this weekend, our favourite has got to be the Open Streets Day in Mitchells Plain.
Open Streets is an initiative of the City of Cape Town, and previous events were successfully held innie Plain, as well as Langa, Bellville and the city centre.
Eisleben Road will be a car-free zone on Sunday afternoon for you to enjoy yourself and go bos with the activities.
Stof af that bicycle and roller-blades for a ride as you get to know your neighbours and play games of old.
The City says Open Streets Day in Mitchells Plain will be the last of the 2016/17 summer series.
Eisleben Road will be closed to traffic between Wespoort Drive and Spine Road from noon until 5pm on Sunday.
And guess what, it’s FREE!
Councillor Brett Herron urged mense to make use of the opportunity.
“The City supports Open Streets as a platform to demonstrate the potential of streets by making some of them temporarily car-free.
“Open Streets days give residents the opportunity to experience streets as safe and welcoming public spaces where we can connect, socialise and participate in activities.
“As cities around the world become more human-centered, we must also begin to re-imagine our city and turn it into a space not only for vehicular traffic, but more so for pedestrians and cyclists.”
