Capetonians came out in full force over the weekend to help those affected by natural disasters in the Western Cape this year.
The Cape Spy team was out at GrandWest on Saturday for the Good Hope FM United in Hope Benefit Concert.
The venue was packed with thousands of people as dozens of artists from across South Africa united on stage for the worthy cause.
The monster concert, which lasted a whopping six hours, was headlined by twin bros Locnville, along with Tresor, Chad Saaiman, Nasty C, Dominic Neill, Lakota Silva, Afrika Ablaze, New Hero, Can Skylark and many more who all performed pro bono.
Tickets cost R150 and proceeds will be donated to the Community Chest and the SA Red Cross Society.
Other fun acts who also brought their part were lagbol local comedians Dalin Oliver, Carl Weber, Conrad Koch and his brazen sidekick, Chester Missing.
The audience were kept entertained between acts by MCs Danilo Acquisto, Dan Corder and Kyeezi alongside Stan Mars.
Roxanne Abrahams, 26, from Mitchells Plain says she’s impressed by all the local talent who performed at the show.
“Wow, what an amazing show. I really had a wonderful time at the Benefit concert and shaken by all the talented local artists that South Africa has.
“Everything was good. Well done to Good Hope FM and their sponsors for making the night memorable and my ticket worth it,” says Roxanne.
“My highlight of the night was the comedian Chester, he was hilarious then of course I enjoyed Jaye Keyz, Patty, Lokota, and Nasty C, even though he only got onto stage after 1am but it was worth the wait.”
