Actress Terry Pheto says she’s playing the role of a lifetime, portraying Winnie Mandela.
Terry, along with Hollywood stars Laurence Fishburne and Orlando Jones, are all in the Black Entertainment Television (BET) miniseries about the life of former SA President Nelson Mandela.
Speaking to TMG Entertainment, Terry says she’s overwhelmed.
“I feel like I’ve been preparing for this role my entire career. It’s a dream role for me, and I feel like everything that I’ve done has led me to this,” she says.
The actress adds: “Preparing for this role over the past few months is the loneliest I’ve ever felt, because you watch documentaries and you read material, and you realise very few people would have survived what [Winnie] went through.”
The miniseries is currently being filmed in Johannesburg and will be on BET (DStv channel 129) in early 2017.
