She reportedly said on Monday she thinks Taylor started the feud, and “it’s time for her to finish it”.
And, Katy says in an interview, she’s “ready” to bury the hatchet.
The singer, who said she would “absolutely” answer Taylor’s Facetime call, revealed that she “did try and reach out to her”.
Adding: “I tried to do the right thing, the good thing, and you know, she shut me down and wrote a song.”
Katy wants to make peace with Taylor because she thinks “when women unite, the world is going to heal.”
She’s continued on about uniting with other females, adding that she doesn’t have any beef really with anyone.
The Rise singer added: “I love everyone, and honestly…I think we need to unite more than ever.”
Katy insisted that it doesn’t matter where you come from, don’t matter what you believe, don’t matter which music you like the most, we are the same and we need to be unified.
While fans have said that Katy’s new song Swish Swish is throwing shade to Taylor, she said it’s a song about her “winning” and “being above that c***”.
During the Late Late Show Primetime special, Katy said she tried to end the rivalry.
The California Girls singer said: “There’s a situation. Honestly, it’s really like she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.”
Adding that she tried to talk to her, but Taylor “wouldn’t speak to me…I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me”.
The feud became public knowledge after Taylor wrote Bad Blood and told Rolling Stone magazine in 2014 it was about a pop singer.
Taylor had said “she basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” adding that “she tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me”.
