Cape Town’s very own international diva has not disappointed fans of Whitney Houston since she hit our shores last week.
Davids is the voice behind the Whitney Houston Tribute Show, and really, mense, had she been discovered like Houston had been, she would have given the late superstar a run for her geld.
Cape Spy was there on Saturday night to capture all the action at the Artscape Theatre.
The two-hour-long show took the audience on a journey of the life and times of Houston.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the theatre as Belinda impersonated Houston’s every move, her quirks and those top notes that made her one of the most successful singers in the world.
The 41-year-old mom of two boys was born in Port Elizabeth before moving to Cape Town and said she was excited to be back home as part of her global tour.
Belinda said: “I want to give everyone an experience of what Whitney was like in her prime days on stage.”
Every outfit change was better than the last as Belinda showcased all Houston’s hits, such as Greatest Love of All, One Moment in Time, So Emotional, Dance With Somebody and many more.
Launched just over three years ago and leaving hype in its wake ever since, the production has toured across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Dubai and North America.
The show ends on 16 July 2017 at the Artscape Opera House.
