Police are hunting three armed men who opened fire on a house full of people, instantly killing two and injuring eight others.
The incident occurred shortly after 8pm on Sunday evening in Bushwa Crescent, Heinz Park.
Lesley Jafta, 23, died after getting shot while he was sleeping, while the other deceased, only known as Rickie, 25, died a few minutes later.
According to relatives, three armed men arrived at the residence and went straight to Lesley’s Wendy house.
“Everyone else was in the main house and he was sleeping alone in the Wendy, his door was open so they just walked in and opened fire,” says a resident who did not want to be identified.
“Then they went to the main house, fired the first shot through the window which hit Rickie and then they kicked in the door and shot at people.
“There were about 10 people in there and everyone just ran for cover and many of them got injured.
“We don’t know who these people are or what their motive is but it is clear they came here to kill and everyone is frightened they might come back to finish off what they started.”
Police spokesperson, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana confirms the incident and says the wounded people were taken to hospital, while no arrests have been made yet.
