Elton ruled out on account of finger injury.

Lions flyhalf and favourite for the Springbok No.10 jersey Elton Jantjies has been ruled out for three to four weeks with a finger injury.

The 25-year-old |fractured a finger against the Jaguares last weekend and is now set to miss the Boks’ June Tests against Ireland.

Pat Lambie will now become the frontrunner for the position.

Meanwhile, Rapport reported that Duane Vermeulen, who is highly tipped to captain the Springboks in the series against Ireland, has been given an |ultimatum by the South African Rugby Union to report for national duty on June 5.

If he doesn’t, then he will be asked to hand in his retirement from the national team.

This comes after Vermeulen’s Toulon club boss Mourad Boudjellal said that he will not pay players if they leave during the June Test window.
