The Guptas have their stinking rich fingers in everyone’s pies, it seems.
Pop superstars Jennifer Lopez and Robin Thicke are heading to South Africa for the first time ever – and it’s all thanks to the wealthy Indian family.
Jenny from the Block and the Blurred Lines hitmaker will land on our shores in three weeks’ time to perform at news channel ANN7’s South African of the Year awards.
The broadcaster is owned by the Guptas.
ANN7 Editor-in-chief, Moegsien Williams said in a statement: “It is an honour to secure an international artist like Jennifer Lopez for the SATY awards.
“Hosting Jennifer Lopez, one of the greatest international acts in the world, proves how we have become a drawcard as a country.”
J.Lo is currently filming season two of her TV series, Shades of Blue.
ANN7 tweeted: “First time in South Africa, International Superstar Jennifer Lopez will be performing at the #SATY2016 Awards on Nov.25 #Dstv405”
Unfortunately for Capetonians, the awards will take place on November 25 at the Ticketpro Dome in Randburg. But if you’re a real fan, you’ll mos make a plan to get a lift there.
Mzansi’s “it” girl Bonang Matheba is set to host the glitzy awards ceremony.
Bonang’s hosting skills are in demand theses days — last week she fronted the MTV Africa Music Awards, after comedian Trevor Noah cried off at the last moment,
saying he was sick.
