The Proteas are out to kill off the ODI series against Australia today (1.30pm).
Rilee Rossouw says South Africa will not give the visitors a sniff with South Africa needing another win to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-game series.
The opener says: “The guys have really put in good performances over the last two games and we are ready for the third game.
“We want to wrap it. Australia is the best team in the world and if we give them a sniff, they will come back.
“So we want to finish it off. It will give us momentum going into Australia. It’s not going to be easy games there in the Tests.”
The in-form batsman is buzzing for another go at the Aussies after scoring 63 and 75, and wants a ton to crush the old enemy.
He says: “I’m hard on myself. I’m more interested in three figures. I just want to continue with this run of form.”
Rossouw was backed at the top of the order at the Wanderers, even with Hashim Amla fit to play after shrugging off the flu.
But he says he will bat anywhere on a slow Kingsmead pitch.
The attacking lefthander says: “[I like to bat] anywhere at the top of the order. I prefer the new ball.
“I like to play good cricket shots and get the runs up early.
“There are not a lot boundaries here. It’s probably the worst in the country to get runs in the final 10 overs. We have to take that into consideration for our game plan.”
