Cape Town singer and Idols SA Season 10 finalist, London Louw, is making music to please himself.
Next month he is releasing a 6-track Extended Play (EP) album called Bipolar Bear, and he says each track is an anthem for mense to overcome life’s struggles.
London says: “I’ve decided my brand needed to evolve and go further because what I was trying to do was to please as many people as possible with the music I was making and that really wasn’t working.”
A chance meeting with transgender performer Tiara Skye, while they were both auditioning for a play, inspired one of the singles, Just Be (Tiara), and London says this has set the tone for his new sound.
He says like Tiara, the lyrics of Just Be are bold and uplifting.
“There is nothing left to do, but to show the world it’s you.
“Let the sunlight kiss your face, wear your tiara, show your grace,” the song goes.
London says: “Be it race, ethnicity or the LGBTI community, everyone has to face some sort of adversity.”
The single has already been playlisted on Heart FM and the official launch is at Club Zer021 on November 27.
